Pre-NightHawk Camp

Our first Scout Report is from Jack. Thanks Jack!

Scouts has been great this year with my favourite bits being the 2 night camp in the forest off the top of Pigabeen Road.

That was the pre-Nighthawk training and we kept camp with geese, cows, chickens, roosters. Talk about noisy! It’s great being out in the middle of the bush and taking care of ourselves and each other.

The food was even better than I have at home, except when I went back for seconds it was all gone! That doesn’t happen at home.

My other favourite bit has been the Kayak Course I did one weekend down at Currumbin Creek. I learnt heaps and have been for a few solo paddles after that.

Marathon Day A Huge Success

What a fantastic day for the Palm Beach Scout Group and parents/friends who helped out at Sunday’s 27th Gold Coast Airport Marathon

Not only did our members do the Palm Beach Scout Group proud, but we also received a cash donation from Gold Coast Events (who run the Marathon) for our involvement.

Being part of the Scouts is about contributing to the local community and it was terrific to see the enthusiasm and hardwork shown by all. Thank you for your help and participation!

Money Raised

The money raised will be put toward a variety of activities and expenses we incur and is greatly appreciated.

We’re Stars!

As part of the Marathon lead up, the Gold Coast Mail came and did an article on the help the Palm Beach Scout Group were going to provide.

We had the 2000 Gold Coast Marathon winner Samantha Hughes come along and pose for a million photos with Scouts Chloe, Andre and Jack. And then we got a great position on Page 2 of the newspaper!

Even the General Manager of the Gold Coast Airport Marathon was quoted as saying we do a fantastic job and he thanked us for our support.
