Fees

The annual Cub, Scout or Venturer Fee is $225 pa. This fee is broken up this way:

• $80 Administration Fee
• $80 Section Fee
• $65 Queensland Branch Fee

Administration Fee

The Administration Fee covers the hall insurance, public liability, electricity, rates, hiring of hall council fee, photocopier, stationary, postage, bank fees, cleaning products for the hall, etc. Without this fee our children will not be able top continue with their activities and our den won't be able to function.

Section Fee Fee

The Section fee covers materials, pens, paper, etc used in the weekly meetings.

Queensland Branch Fee

The Queensland Branch Fee covers the members for personal insurance and membership to Scouts Australia Queensland Branch. This fee is paid direct to Queensland Branch when you receive your invoice.

When Fees Are Payable

The Administration fee and Section fee will be payable in two- (2) payments of $80 during the year.

Money can be paid by cheque and sent to PO Box 369, Palm Beach, 4221 or can be dropped into the hall on your meeting night.

Equipment - No Fee

Palm Beach Scouts have access to a large range of extensive camping and adventure equipment such as tents, ropes, cooking gear and canoes and kayaks. The cost of this equipment is met by community donations and money-raising events. When your child joins Scouts, he or she will be benefiting from the efforts of community over the years to acquire these resources.

Personal Equipment

Eventually you will need to equip your son or daughter with items of personal equipment such as a mess kit, sleeping bag, rucksack, sleeping mattress and so on. The older your child gets the more of this type of equipment he or she will want. However, there is no rush to buy these things and they make great ideas for birthdays and Christmas.

It is always worth buying good quality equipment that will last and continue to be suitable for many years. Seek advice from your Section Leader or make your purchases from a Snowgum store. Snowgum is Australia's largest chain of outdoor suppliers and is wholly owned by Scouts Australia.

The staff at Snowgum are very often Leaders themselves and will help you to choose equipment that is both suitable and will last.
